About Me

Hi, I'm Michael, a registered BACP Person-Centred counsellor offering face-to-face counselling in Sittingbourne, Kent, as well as online counselling across the UK.

The name Loqui (low-kwi) comes from the Latin "to speak". I chose it because I believe that, whoever we are and whatever we're going through, we all need somewhere we can talk openly and be heard.

My Approach

Many people come to counselling worried they won't know what to say, where to begin, or whether what they're going through is "enough" to need support.

You don't need to prepare anything. We'll simply start where you are.

At the heart of my approach is humanity. I'm not here to judge you, analyse everything you say, or tell you how you should live your life. I'm here to offer a genuine, supportive relationship where you have the time and space to explore what's happening for you.

Life can move incredibly quickly, and sometimes we spend so much time coping, looking after others or simply getting through the day that we lose sight of ourselves.

Counselling can offer a place to stop for a while, talk honestly and begin making sense of things.

Sometimes, we all need a little extra help and a space where we can simply be.

My Experience

Alongside my private practice, I have extensive experience providing therapeutic support within schools and working with adults and families experiencing difficult and complex circumstances.

I have more than 14 years' experience working with children and young people from a wide range of backgrounds, including significant experience supporting children and young people with special educational needs.

Throughout my work, I have supported people experiencing anxiety, depression and low mood, low self-esteem, bereavement and loss, anger, trauma, relationship difficulties, ADHD, autism and significant changes in their lives.

These experiences have reinforced something I strongly believe: no two people experience life in exactly the same way. Counselling isn't about fitting you into a box or applying the same solution to everyone. It's about understanding you, your experiences and what you need from the space.
